Common questions

1. How accurate is it?

Tine Logic IQ estimates measurements from photographs, so it is an estimate, not a tape measurement. Every number comes with a low and high range so you can see how confident the estimate is. Good photos with a dollar bill at the base of the antlers tighten the range. Bad photos widen it. Expect the field score to be off by a meaningful amount on some racks, especially on circumferences and on racks photographed from one angle or from below. For anything that matters, such as a records entry, use a certified official measurer after the 60 day drying period.

2. What photos work best?

The app gives you four slots: Front, Left side, Right side and Rear. The front photo is the one you need: face the deer with both antlers in view and lay a dollar bill flat in front of the antler bases with all of it showing. The AI finds the bill and uses it as its ruler. Without one it scales off the ears and skull, which vary from deer to deer, so the range is wider. The side photos give the app a clean look at each antler's main beam and tines, and the rear photo helps with spread and beam shape. Fill the front slot plus at least one side for a good estimate, and all four for the best one. Take photo in the app checks each shot and tells you what to fix. Shoot in daylight, stand 6 to 8 feet back with the phone level with the antler bases and zoom to 2x. For a plaque or wall mount, tape the bill flat across the skull cap just under the bases and set the mount at chest height.

3. Do I need a reference object?

It is the single best thing you can do for accuracy. Lay a dollar bill (6 1/8 by 2 5/8 inches) or a gift card or hotel key card (3 3/8 by 2 1/8 inches) flat at the base of the antlers in the front photo. Never use a real credit or debit card; the card number would end up in your photos. The AI finds it on its own and measures everything against it. Without one, the app scales off the ears, which vary from deer to deer, so the range is wider.

4. How do I get the tightest score?

Use all four photo slots, put a dollar bill flat in front of the antler bases in the front photo, hold the phone level with the antlers from 6 to 8 feet with 2x zoom, shoot in good light, and enter your point count when the app asks for it. Each score is read three times and the middle value of every measurement is kept, so a steady set of photos gives a steady score.

5. How do subscriptions work?

Your first score preview is free. Tine Logic IQ Pro is sold as a monthly plan and an annual plan, and a Single Score Sheet unlocks one rack with no subscription. Prices and any trial terms are shown in the app and in the store before you buy. Plans renew automatically until you cancel. You cancel in your App Store or Google Play account settings, not inside the app. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.

6. How do I restore my purchases?

Open Settings in the app and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple ID or Google account that made the purchase. If you added an email to your Tine Logic IQ account, sign in with it on the new device first so your trophy log comes along too. If a restore fails, email us with the store receipt and we will sort it out.

7. How do I delete my account?

Open Settings and tap Delete Account. This deletes your photos, your scores and your account. It cannot be undone. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription, so cancel that in the App Store or Google Play first if you do not want it to renew. If you cannot get into the app, email us and we will delete the account for you.

8. Which species are supported?

Whitetail deer, Coues deer, mule deer, blacktail deer and elk. The app identifies the species from the photos and you can change it if it guesses wrong. Other species are not supported in this version.

9. How do I share a rack with other hunters?

Open the score and tap Share link. Anyone with the link sees the photo, the species and the score on a web page, with no app or account needed. It never shows your measurements. Tap Stop sharing on the score and the link stops working. Share card makes an image for texts and social posts.

10. What is a hunting camp?

A camp is a private group for your hunting buddies. Create one under Camps, send the 6 character invite code, and members can post racks to the camp feed and see the season board (best rack per hunter, August through July). The camp owner can remove members and generate a new code. Anyone can report a post or block a hunter from the post menu; reports are reviewed within 24 hours and posts that break the Terms are removed.

11. Can I send a harvest to onX Hunt or HuntStand?

Yes, as a waypoint file. Tag the harvest location on the score (Use my current location), then Export GPX or Export KML. onX Hunt imports GPX in the app and KML on its web map. HuntStand imports KML on its website and Android app. The waypoint carries the rack name and the score in its notes. Neither app offers a direct connection for other apps, so the file is the supported path.

12. What is Field Judge?

Field Judge looks at a photo of a live buck, from your phone or a trail camera, and tells you whether he likely clears the minimum you set, with a likely gross range and what the photo let it see. Set the minimum in Settings: yours, your camp's or your outfitter's. A call is an estimate from a photo. Whether to take the shot is always your decision.
